There are plenty of people having sex, but not getting involved romantically.
I don’t agree with the taboo view of prostitution. However, assuming you live in a puritanical western country that has forced sex work into the shadows, it isnt worth the legal and health risks IMO.

I’m not a big fan of casual sex myself, not out of a moral imperative, but because of all the anxiety and effort involved. So I go without.
