Any time you see a politician ranting about DEI, replace it in your mind with the n-word. That’s what they’re really saying. No, it doesn’t matter that people of any race can use it; Republicans have spent the past 6 decades cementing the idea of public projects and vilified racial minorities being inherently linked.

N-word bike lane doesn’t make any sense unless there’s a separate Whites bike lane…and as much as these fucks would love to bring back Jim Crow and segregation, I really don’t see them putting in a bike lane just for the whites, let alone one for the blacks.

They’ll put in a special lane for rollin’ coal on the interstate before they do that.

That’s what the entire second half of my comment was about. Public transit isn’t segregated by law either, but the unashamed racists will tell you they don’t take it because it’s for black people. Atlanta’s metro service, MARTA, has been pejoratively called ‘moving Africans rapidly through Atlanta’ since before a lot of people on here were born. They incite racial hatred and then rhetorically link social programs and racial minorities to make racists more okay with having programs that benefit them cut. This is why food stamps went from one of the most supported to one of the most vilified, politicized welfare programs.
