Ok maybe I’m just a stupid noob but I can’t figure out what happened here:

Started salvaging corvette components

Bought a landing gear and hab module but couldn’t afford/find a cockpit yet

Started designing a corvette anyway, saved the half-finished design for later

Went back now that I salvage a cockpit, game says I have no saved designs and the parts I bought are not in my inventory or Corvette Workshop storage
Did I screw myself by trying to save an invalid design?
did you go back to the corvette workshop in the same space station that you started it from?
I found that if I change stations while there is an incomplete design, it will not follow me to the next station. Once I finished a new design, my old parts ended up in the cache box.
