    Why do you assume they didn’t get therapy? Faith* is essential for many people to survive hardships.

    *Even atheists have to believe in something if not a deity

      Depends on how you define belief.
      For me, it’s based on a lack of evidence / understanding.

      I don’t believe, if I can help it.

      In anything.

      Yes. I believe in things. Pencils, Neptune, internal combustion engines. You know, things that we have evidence for the existence of.

      Or by ‘believe in something’ did you mean some sort of woo-woo bullshit? Because I have no need to believe in woo-woo bullshit.

      You are equivocating two meanings of belief.

      Believing things that are provable is OK.

      Believing mythical nonsense you were told in a story book or a temple is not OK. Faith is not a path for truth.

      I don’t understand. What do you mean “believe”? What do atheists believe in that isn’t based in actual tangible reality that you’re referring to here?
