I mean there’s Reddit ofc, as well as Twitter in its entirety, Discord is implementing some dumb updates, there are issues with Tumblr as well as everything to do with Meta, and I’m sure there are plenty more (and I haven’t even touched other digital media, for example the Sims). Why is it all happening in the span of about a couple months?
My guess? It’s similar to when cellular providers in the USA all began to implement data caps a while back. Another place I’d expect to see this happen soon is streaming services, with account sharing. The other part of it is the end of cheap money which helped fuel near unlimited growth in tech for over a decade. Interest rates are much higher and these companies have to find ways to generate some profit. I hate all of it, but that’s probably what’s happening.
