Basically what the title says. I’ve only played two games like this so far (Silent Hill 2 and OMORI) and am looking for more.

Could be games, ROM hacks, mods of existing games, etc.

EDIT: So many great suggestions! Getting a bit overwhelmed by how many there are, so I’m going to need to find a way to put this in some kind of list with an order to play the games in. By all means, keep 'em coming, though!

Yeah, I mean the remake. I tried playing the original a few years ago, and I just couldn’t get into it with the old graphics.

Lmao, I’m an older gamer myself. My problem is that I missed the PS1, N64 through PS2, Xbox era because I was too old for my parents to buy my video games, but too young to buy them for myself. I had a SNES as a kid, then jumped straight to the Xbox 360 and PS3. So I don’t really nostalgia for PS2 graphics.

I feel it’s easy to go back and re-play an old game, but it’s really hard to get into an old game that you never played.

Plus, the fact that a remake exists makes it hard to justify playing the original.

Been avoiding this one since I had the game spoiled for me forever ago. I feel like I should also play ICO.

SotC is still worth playing even if spoiled - for me it’s about the overarching feeling through the entire experience that is really special. Very lonely and isolating but beautiful and tragic.

ICO I tried to replay recently but found it too clunky, but that’s probably because I don’t often play retro games so don’t have the feel for them anymore. I did love it when I played it decades ago though.

Also, definitely add The Last Guardian to this list. It’s incredibly unique, and I absolutely loved the aspects of it that frustrate some people - just try to think of it like you’re trying to communicate with an actual animal, not a game.
