Recently got my second batch of sample sizes from Fyrinnae: several (8, I think?) eyeshadows, 4 fragrance oils, plus a full-size Pixie Epoxy and Lip Lustre. It’s kind of a mixed bag for me, in terms of what works for me and what doesn’t – not in terms of quality, which I’m overall impressed by.

Fyrinnae’s loose shadows are quick becoming one of my very favorite shadow formulas, I think. I find them just so easy to work with. I don’t wear many glittery shadows (until very recently, I avoided glitter altogether), but I thought Pixie Epoxy performed super well and will make it easier for me to experiment with glittery/flaky shadows.

The Lip Lustre is a really nice-feeling formula, and an okay color for me, but it has a strong sweet hazelnut-like scent, which I find very unpleasant. Fortunately, it seems to fade quickly, but it’s kind of headache-inducing when I apply it. Maybe I’ll get more used to it if I use it more; we’ll see.

Man, scent-wise, I like a lot of the samples I’ve gotten – until I wear them. The ones I’ve tried so far just don’t seem to work with my skin very well, which I’m pretty sad about. One of them (Convergence Zone) does work pretty well for me, although the wet earth note is really dominant. I think it could make a good mixer/layer-er for me, though.

That’s exciting! I haven’t personally tried their products, but have heard good things! It’s always a bummer when a scent base doesn’t agree with you.

From some things I’ve read (and Fyrinnae’s own site), I have a feeling that their shadow formula might be polarizing. I love it, though, and will need to restrain myself from spending too much $$ on their shadows!

They do loose shadows primarily right? I only ever tried notoriously morbid for loose shadows, haven’t done much with indie Makeup products.

They do both, but it does seem like they have more loose than pressed ones. I haven’t tried any of the pressed ones yet. It would be interesting to compare them.
