15·2 个月前I have no idea what reddit is like these days. I left when they shut down third party apps and honestly don’t miss it that much. Occasionally there’s some hobby related things I’ll find myself wandering in from a search to find resources but I leave the moment I find what I’m looking for. I don’t log in and I don’t stick around anymore.

6·2 个月前Can they export their eco-authoritarianism to the western US so I can get some proper fucking bike infrastructure and not be threatened with death every time some asshole in their jacked up F150 decides I’m an offense to their sensibilities because I checks notes exist on a public roadway?

7·4 个月前Listen, Reuters, you just quoted China’s foreign ministry on how they view this, as politicizing something that shouldn’t be. Then you go bOth SiDeS.
They didn’t even do it correctly either! The export controls the USA is using is so they can try to maintain monopoly rent over “AI” tech (even though China has been more than capable of making their own) instead of any humanitarian reasons. The export controls China is employing is to try and stop the minerals from being used to create weapons that the USA will drop on innocent people around the world without any legitimate reason (last time they joined in on any sort of legitimate use of weapons was WWII and that was only because they wanted to steal the credit out from under the Soviets). Arguably, China’s goals with export controls are a net boon for the world population, where the export controls the USA is trying to enforce only benefit a fraction of a fraction of a percent of some of the worst humans to ever exist.
That bar for communism is too tall, nazis aren’t people 😏

I couldn’t sit and read theory to save my life. Marx Madness podcast was a game changer for me. Their ability to engage me and contextualize the theory really helped me. I do need to go back and reread some of it but I feel like I could better understand it. Season 1 is a bit rough because they went with one chapter per episode so there’s a few really long ones but S2 onwards they really started to get into a decent rhythm.

World News@lemmygrad.ml•China summons Nvidia over ‘serious security issues’ with chipsEnglish
9·1 年前I’ve started to understand that if China is doing something that makes me go, “why aren’t they doing the most obvious thing I can think of” then it’s probably answered with any one or more of the following: de-escalation to build up more alliances via mutually beneficial trade (see BRICS), long term self reliance strategies (with the end goal of making western offerings uncompetetive long term), or just not wanting to kick off a global nuclear war via antagonism of the USA

32·1 年前Yeah, I noticed that as well. Not to mention AIRBNB who are renting out “investment” homes. Housing needs to be fundamentally redesigned to remove housing scalpers from the equation…

9·1 年前Yet another example to add to the “why profit is a shitty motivator” pile. It reenforces the worst parts of the human psyche. We teach kids to share, be kind, and be cooperative but the capitalist society rewards greed, anger, and a complete lack of empathy.

¿Por que no los tres?
