I have a problem when watching a show or movie, and I’m a little bit stoned, that I start thinking about how it was filmed, the camera angles, and the actors in the scene. It really takes me out of the moment

3·5 days agoI laugh every time I see one. There were a lot around here and I see far, far less now than I did even 6 months ago
I have to work very hard not to screw up my face when the customer comes to pick up things with one and ask, “are you sure it can handle all that?”
Team won on the game and I was just wondering what time you are going to be able to get it to the office and write it up and get the chicken salad and I’ll be there in a few minutes watching the game and I have to go to the store and get the chicken salad and I’ll see you tomorrow
I love a bunch of things listed but I’m into low effort. My friend did a jacket potato with baked beans, cheese, coleslaw and it was awesome
Bake the potato, butter it after cutting an X, add cheese then cover with warmed baked beans (if you’re American, find ones not baked with molasses or brown sugar. You want savory not sweet.) top with coleslaw and enjoy a meal in a dish
Super easy, delicious, the flavors and textures mixed well. Like baked potatoes you can add whatever you want but this was a new combination to me

1·8 days agoI saw spores for sale at a few places around here. They’re for “research purposes only” but they’re viable. I’d grow 'em but not sure if I’d use them. I love growing things and I wouldn’t mind growing gourmet ones, as well

2·8 days agoSuper interesting. I wonder how well it’s replicated and I wonder how long it’ll last. Even maybe reaching that first level of reversal and then microdosing so they’re not tripping, just keeping the clarity

News@lemmy.world•Canada announces temporary ban of Texas livestock to prevent spread of screwworm
33·9 days agoWell, yes, but why cancer and why specifically Bill Gateses? Steve Jobs notably died because he had cancer meat.
Also, other companies are working on it and I’m pretty sure they’re cancer free
Also, have you seen “The Island”? They’re growing people to use as replacements for their host body’s cancer meat, even though they’re marketed as just meat in a bag

8·9 days agoThey would never ever! (… have one millisecond of introspection or critical thinking.) They won’t even hear about it or care until it spreads to where they’re affected; I doubt their news source covered this aspect, only the woke programs sending money to ridiculous bug breeding programs in another country being cut by our DOGE saveurs (portmanteau of savior and poseur)

Technology@lemmy.world•Valve antitrust lawsuit reportedly reveals lengths Steam owner is willing to go to prevent cheaper prices elsewhereEnglish
2·11 days ago“It is important that you don’t give Steam customers a worse deal than Steam Key purchasers.”
That’s a very fair way of phrasing it and should make sense to anyone saying “but what if they want to sell it cheaper elsewhere?” Seems most people don’t even understand the actual issue, they just are butthurt over headlines
I had to look up that word:
hirsute /hûr′soo͞t″, hîr′-, hər-soo͞t′/ adjective
Covered with hair; hairy. Covered with stiff or coarse hairs. Rough with hair; set with bristles; shaggy.
Cool!

2·14 days agoOn Cue and Sam Goody were owned by the same company, Musicland. I worked at Media Play which was also owned by the same company and it all shut down shortly after I moved away. Musicland got bought out by Best Buy
It was pretty awesome, great employee discounts, good managers, fun coworkers
And that’s how we get the term anglers, angling? Never questioned the origin
Oh hell yeah! Sounds fun, I want to give that a try
I looked up how to make them; can you recommend a spicy chili sauce brand that comes close to the flavor of the homemade recipe?
Hey thanks!!! I’ll absolutely look into that
