Right? Put a tasteful family crest behind it, and you’ve got some wall art.

7·4 days agoWell damn, that’s fine work. I thought Data looked a little unnaturally crisp in this one.
(Edit: give me a sec, and I’ll replace it with this one)
The yellow squares indicate that black just moved that pawn, so it’s white’s turn, and there’s a really cool mate-in-one available.

If white responds with en passant (using the e pawn) it’s checkmate.

That swamp…
I did some googling, but I didn’t find much info other than everyone seemed to have different standards back then (this would’ve been the 1960s/1970s).

11·7 days agoThat does seem to be the direction the games have been going, and I think it must be an audience patience thing.
Demon Souls is a good example of the level being the main challenge, with the boss at the end as more of a bonus (Flamelurker being an exception). Later games, even Elden Ring, are way more boss focused.
I guess I like both, although now that you mention it, we’ve had a lot of dance move bosses lately, and it would be cool to see a new game go back to the genre’s roots.

I try to find a variety when I can, to keep it interesting.
