My undergrad program had us write Java code by hand for some beginning assignments and exams. The TAs would then type whatever we wrote into Eclipse and see if it ran. They usually graded pretty leniently, though.
Every single election, the League of Women Voters puts out responses to their surveys about candidates’ relevant viewpoints and platform. Every single election I have to remind people it even exists. It’s the easiest way to filter out candidates. Do their viewpoints align with mine? Did they even bother to respond to the survey?
Takes like 5-10 minutes easily. There’s simply no excuse.
It was only if they fell above the knees that made you gay. If they fell below the knee or were basketball shorts, you were fine.
Pretty sure Hawaii still has their publicly-funded healthcare option. I know a number of communities across the US had much smaller free insurance programs that mostly died off when the ACA passed. Some of them might still exist as heavily means-tested shadows of their former selves.
I just can’t imagine why people think it’s a Nazi salute…oh wait,

The fun fact about Methylene Blue that always is a hit with students is it also turns your pee a green/blue-green color.
This is pretty cool. I just saw an article about a D&D-themed pinball machine that’s being made and immediately my mind jumped to wondering just how difficult it is to maintain these things. It’d be fun to own one but I have no idea how many other businesses are out there like this one.

I think Webfishing did it pretty well.
The game offers a bunch of goofy cosmetic player titles like “Good Boy” and “Shark Bait” as well as serious ones like “Bi” and “Pan” that cost something like $5 in game currency.
Someone complained that there wasn’t a “Straight” title, the game dev agreed and added the title for $9,999.
Right up there with Dan Savage birthing the word santorum as a gift to the American people.
This guy’s been doing it for 23 years now:
Definitely helps to be able to at least read and understand code. I remember the documentation being decent enough. IIRC it was a thing to provide scripts that look helpful but actually contained malicious code to do all sorts of nasty things to your in-game system. It’s really cool.
I wish this AI generated image would go megaviral
Oh, absolutely. I was just surprised they said anything at all about it.
