I was able to run it as a guest, but then Google changed it so that you’re forced to log in with your Google account in order to use it.
Google literally has to ruin everything.

Showroom7561@lemmy.cato Buy European@feddit.uk•Windows loses 400 million users as mobile, Linux, and Mac use grows1·2 days agoYou’re right, but in the age group 18-29 the majority isn’t a PC gamer.
For sure, but we’re still talking millions of young people with at least a PC (for gaming).
Also in college more and more people only use a tablet. I feel also a growing number of not young people are switching to a tablet or have a laptop laying around somewhere for that one time you need it.
Interestingly enough, the EU reports (as late as 2023) that desktop use to access the internet has gone down over the years, but so has tablet use. Laptop, phones, and smart devices (i.e. smart TVs) went up.
But I didn’t see a breakdown of the age groups there, and it doesn’t expand on gaming/non-gaming habits, just “devices used to access the internet”.
I went through a phase where I did everything on Android tablets, then a Windows tablet, then back to a laptop. LOL I still have a desktop PC, but my laptop is my daily driver.

Showroom7561@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•U.S. resumed trade talks with Canada on Monday morning, says Carney5·2 days agoThere seems to be some benefit to having a formal deal in place.
Yes, but the “in place” part is what’s in question. You can sign a deal, and the next day Trump can say it was a bad deal and it’s off the table… again.
Much of the stuff he’s bickering about now are things HE negotiated during his first term! He’ll never be happy, and we have to stop wasting time on this baboon and seek partnerships with leaders who aren’t complete assholes.

Showroom7561@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•U.S. resumed trade talks with Canada on Monday morning, says Carney34·2 days agoWhat’s the point? Even if we reach a deal, it’s not like Trump is stable or trustworthy enough to honour it.
We MUST keep our threats in place for at least 30 days after Trump’s last threat, or else this off-and-on bullshit will just continue indefinitely. And we should extend that delay every time Trump plays his games.
I’m on Aurora (which is based on Fedora silverblue) and after updating, I started getting that error (yesterday).
Followed the instructions and got back in, but earlier today when I manually locked the PC, I didn’t get the error screen, just a mouse and black screen. Followed the same instructions to get back into my desktop.
It’s already been reported as a bug, and I think a new update should fix it really soon.

Also, to hell with grocery stores for continuing to feature American produce in their flyer and stores.

The PC gaming industry disagrees, though. Half the user base on Steam is < 29 years of age and younger (and they don’t count ages younger than 18).
Even still, gaming on Linux has exploded, and Xbox has been enshittified beyond recognition, so M$ is losing on all fronts.
