I totally use 🙃😐😑🤔😔😬 with my team where appropriate, 💯🔥👊🤗🙌 also get used (with like every other emoji you listed) by the entire department all the time, usually as reactions to messages, reaction gifs are also pretty common. Similar thing to 👍 beside a message, just extra descriptive. Client conversations are limited usually to just 👍 reactions. They’re great for symbolic indicators in reporting too.
I like how much extra information emojis bring, definitely used emoticons and the like for that in the past so it’s just a continuation of that to me (I still use emoticons from time to time, ellipsis too) tone is often lost in text otherwise.

Getting washed out HDR on a 4070ti on 570.144 drivers for whatever reason, but gamescope w/ HDR seem to work perfectly with Proton 10 (Both the valve beta and now GE versions, it’d freeze when trying to enable HDR in the past), having HDR at all in games is a huge win so I’ll take it.

It’s a right of passage, I switched all my hotends to fixed blocks, accidentally loosened the block once on the older style hotend after torquing correctly and enveloped the thing in petg, it kinda vitrified too or something in the heat, was like glass so no getting that off.
Generally, blobs off of your hotend, estop it and take a look, that’s a huge tell for a leak.
Worth keeping a few spares around, at least for stuff like nozzles, blocks, heaters and probes.
For most people though yeah, Debian is rock solid, only went arch on my desktop for nvidia drivers (and HDR), archinstall really simplifies installing it.
Arch and Debian wikis are both amazing sources of information, highly recommend for any distro.
As far as I’m aware, a lot of the core utilities originate back some time ago, stuff like ls, CD, chmod/chown, cat, sed, awk etc.

It may suck ass to work at these days so I hear, but they’re far from closing up shop, they were talking about DRI for a long time and have announced building that capacity ~3 Years Ago. They’re already well underway to going DRI+EAF, the steel that comes out of that process is apparently extremely clean metallurgically.

Yeah I can totally understand that, Genie is databricks’ one and apparently it’s surprisingly decent at that, but it has access to a governance platform that traces column lineage on top of whatever descriptions and other metadata you give it, was pretty surprised with the accuracy in some of its auto generated descriptions though.
Gotta be real, LLMs for queries makes me uneasy. We’re already in a place where data modeling isn’t as common and people don’t put indexes or relationships between tables (and some tools didn’t really support those either), they might be alright at describing tables (Databricks has it baked in for better or worse for example, it’s usually pretty good at a quick summary of what a table is for), throwing an LLM on that doesn’t really inspire confidence.
If your data model is highly normalised, with fks everywhere, good naming and well documented, yeah totally I could see that helping, but if that’s the case you already have good governance practices (which all ML tools benefit from AFAIK). Without that, I’m totally dreading the queries, people already are totally capable of generating stuff that gives DBAs a headache, simple cases yeah maybe, but complex queries idk I’m not sold.
Data understanding is part of the job anyhow, that’s largely conceptual which maybe LLMs could work as an extension for, but I really wouldn’t trust it to generate full on queries in most of the environments I’ve seen, data is overwhelmingly super messy and orgs don’t love putting effort towards governance.

Legitimately though, Cortana was pretty great. There was a feature to help plan commutes (before I went more or less full remote), all it really did was watch traffic and adjust a suggest time to depart but it was pretty nice.
Say it every time someone mentions WP7/8/10, those lumia devices were fantastic and I totally miss mine, the 1020 had a fantastic camera on it, especially for the early 2010s
I bought the LCD when it was really steeply discounted, like nearly $280 CAD before taxes and duties for a new one. I bought my partner an oled one and the screen is strikingly different to me, size makes a difference and it’s a lot more vibrant (+ HDR).
The LCD is a solid machine and a great value, I like my partner’s screen and battery life but I don’t know if it’s worth spending twice the price. Regardless, both are really easy to service, way more comfortable than the switch is too.
They seem to buy a lot, bought Hashicorp (terraform) recently, redhat was like 6 years ago now.

You can muffle the beeper pretty effectively with some tape, the old air fryer we had terrified one of the dogs because of the incessant beeping. My coffee scale by default beeps whenever you touch it, thankfully that’s 100% mutable.

I’ve been playing rogue trader on mine recently, I’d describe as playable, but it’s night and day different going through moonlight (which yeah, obviously). Satisfactory was able to get 40-60 pretty reliably.
How bad is bg3 on it?
My partner suspected it like a decade ago, pandemic rolled around, masking got harder. Started with my current therapist, who has ADHD, they worked with me exploring why I thought I may and helped me navigate diagnosis, seeing others lived experiences was big and is why I’m open about it at work and otherwise.
Had my preliminary consult with my psych and was given an eval that I passed with flying colours. Looking back, I check lots of boxes, I failed a course in uni because I got stressed and binged wow as an outlet, loss of structure hit me hard going from highschool. Courses I wasn’t interested in I had a hard time investing in. My masking at work didn’t do great for my mental health or personal life, food & alcohol were the drugs I used (incidentally vyvanse is used for binge eating disorder as well), hit financial issues from impulse spending. I’ve written about my experience with that in the past, was not a good time in my life (mentally or physically) but I’ve worked through it (with therapy) so it’s a chapter I don’t want to repeat.
I went through stages of acceptance after my diagnosis, which is totally normal, I’d get frustrated realising how much of my behaviour is linked to my ADHD, either directly or as a coping mechanism. Was annoyed initially I got the diagnosis in my 30s but hey, can’t change the past and I wouldn’t be who I am without my experiences. I’ve still got work to do and maladaptive coping mechanisms to unpack, but hey it’s a journey and diagnosis was absolutely vital, I’m super grateful to my partner for really pushing me towards it, they’re also nd so we help support each other.
