I’ve previously had a caffeine addiction and didn’t particularly enjoy it. So I make it a point to not have it daily. I’d say I usually have 1 small caffeinated soda with alcohol per week and a regular 8.4 oz Red Bull at some point during the week. So probably in total a little under 200 mg per week
The nice thing is that since I don’t consume much caffeine if I do want a kick I can have 120 mg and really feel it, but that’s usually reserved for particularly long days or days where my sleep gets messed up
Why would you care about a lesser species’ opinion? Why would you hold them to a lower standard than you hold yourself?
The Yautja have no concept of “loved ones”. It is specifically brought up that Dek’s older brother is a failure because he is protecting his weaker brother instead of culling him for the strength of the clan. You’re using human emotional logic to justify your opinions instead of following Predator logic. The vast majority of Yautja would be champing at the bit to fight to prove they can beat the warlord. I still contend these humans have been given an incredible honor in Yautja society
No honor? The Yatuja believe that the only honor that matters is in your hunting prowess, literally every Yatuja has never lost a fight because they always fight to the death. They absolutely think it’s an honor to be brought to Yautja Prime to fight against their leader, which is why they do that instead of just killing the people who beat a Predator. That’s a huge sign of respect from them
My first thought is mom gets diagnosed with terminal cancer causing dad to panic and leave her. Now you’ve got a dying mom whom you don’t want to abandon on top of everything else
You can’t really monkey paw someone that doesn’t want to live
You can absolutely make things “more interesting” for a suicidal person that makes life worse AND convinces them to not kill themselves

Lol, your comment inspired me to check because I do have a list. It’s the 38th best 2025 movie I saw

Personally I think a movie good enough to win best picture should be capable of picking up an award in another major category. I think it’s also possible for a movie to win one of those other awards so hard it also wins best picture
I just don’t think there are many movies that deserve best picture but don’t deserve a win in another category

The whole “if we didn’t go back in time this would be really hard to shoot” joke is where I first picked up on it. It’s also been weird seeing a bunch of YouTube people promoting the show

Right, but storage and memory are clearly the bottlenecks on this computer and we’re pointing out how Apple is alleviating those bottlenecks
That’s a monkey paw wish if I’ve ever heard one

Additionally Apple has a bunch of cloud storage deals. I think most people store all of their photos and videos in iCloud which for most people is the majority of their storage space. I bet this is right in the sweet spot for usability, which doesn’t surprise me given Apple’s laptop history

The acting is weaker than Marty Supreme, the writing is significantly worse than Bugonia, the effects are worse than Sinners, and the music is wholly unremarkable. I don’t think you should win best picture by doing a bunch of things well, you should do something to stand out from the rest of the field

Were you familiar with the series beforehand? I wasn’t and was confused how real the “man on the street” segments were

The Hangover 3/5: Part of my “does this movie from my childhood hold up?” series. It’s fine, some jokes are still funny, others are offensive, but not quite the comedy revolution it once was
Landscape With Invisible Hand 3.5/5: I like it thematically and it has good jokes in spots. It avoids the indie movie trap of having too many plots which is good, but it does feel slow
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves 3.5/5: This is basically what you want a DnD movie to be. It’s silly, it has adventure, charming characters. It’s not a revolution but it is pretty good for what it is
La La Land 4.5/5: I found it hilarious that Regal started their best picture series with this. I really enjoy watching this movie right up to the Observatory dance and ending it right there as a hopeful short romance, give it a try sometime
RRR 5/5: 3 and a half hours of batshit action. This movie immediately leaves reality and is so much fun. They stop to have a dance number, there’s an intermission, there’s guys who are just fucking yoked. This movie is a constant joy to watch
Pulp Fiction 5/5: Chef’s kiss, perfection. The script, the acting, the plot, it all comes together in a package that tells an incredible story just loaded with little details. One of my favorite movies of all time and a joy to watch in theaters

Since you’re here I’ll assume you’re a nerd and suggest getting into Magic:the Gathering. You can learn to play on Arena for free and then buy a pre-made commander deck. At that point you can go to local game stores and ask when they have open play nights. The nice thing about magic is that the games take a long time to play so there’re a lot of opportunities to socialize with the people you play with and people nearby. Similarly if you can find an active Killer Queen cabinet around you those people are always desperate for players and it’s super fun
If you’re less of a nerd dance classes are more active and likewise force you to be in an intimate space with someone which will usually force you to socialize. You seem opposed to bars but karaoke crowds tend to be the same week after week, and you have to wait your turn, so it’s another socialization venue

When Trump got elected I joked about America spawning an anti-pope and how it’d been a good 500 years since our last one. After the pope became an American suddenly my joke felt less funny. Evangelicals claiming a “woke pope” and declaring an “American Pope” seems entirely plausible to me now
