Less radicalized and more just opened my thinking about how society could be and how imperial forces and people’s desires get in the way constantly. More of a ‘this is why utopia can’t happen’ vs Brave New World’s ‘look at this dystopia’

It’s not really the eastern plains though. It seems that’s tossed around to make it sound like she absconded to the rural, barren wasteland to find hick voters because she’s being outcast from the Republican party - while part of her district is the plains there’s virtually no one there. It’s Douglas county where all her constituents actually are and that’s the wealthy southern suburbs of Denver. I’m fact, she has one of if not the wealthiest districts in the state. DougCo has seen some demographic shake ups recently, however, so we’ll see how long that contingent of folks keeps voting red as they recently ousted their conservative school board.

Curious how it compares to Wanderer as I’ve been looking into hosting that as well. I’d love something to help plan backcountry trips in winter like marking no-go zones, sharing conversations around avy conditions, weather, etc would be a godsend

As far as I can tell, open-webui doesn’t have a way to manage gguf models via llama.cpp / llama-swap. It can leverage the models just not a great experience managing (downloading, deleting, etc). I can definitely adjust my workflow to use another tool, it just means an additional hurdle compared to my current flow but it sounds like it’s worth it from a performance standpoint

I’m hoping we see the same thing with FormulaE and electric vehicle technology though I think they need to scale back the regs and give producers more leeway to experiment there

F1 drove massive advancement in carbon fiber construction for cars, light-weight mono-body frames, turbo development which is how basically every ICE car meets emission standards, regenerative braking tech, composite material development - it’s a pretty long list and F1 ends up being the development and proving grounds before manufacturers invest.

There are a lot of faults with the FIA and the decision to spread races out all over the world including some very questionable countries and sponsors but that speaks to the business side and not the technology and engineering which has been quite impactful

I fear this is just going to accelerate companies offshoring jobs in the professional services and tech spaces and severely hurt our research institutes… H1-Bs have definitely been used to drive down wages in certain industries but this doesn’t seem to be an effective way of combatting that

I’m SaaS solutioning / sales and yeah, the shit is flying off the shelves at the enterprise level. AI is powerful and here to stay, what we have to worry about is HOW it’s being used. We desperately need regulation in the space especially as it relates to lending, insurance, and healthcare
