I did an Iron Tarkus cosplay build in DKS1. Stuck with the heavy roll and chose the wolf ring and ring of steel protection. Dumped pretty much everything into strength, health, and endurance.

It actually performed a lot better than I thought it would. Any physical damage build I was up against was pretty immediately shocked at how little damage I took.

What am I missing out on? I don’t mean this in a mean way, I think you are correct that I don’t know and am legitimately curious.

For big ones it is a time commitment thing, but for small ones I have tried to do my part.

I have found I generally have the time to act as a caretaker for some small communities, and there are more than a couple communities out there which have lone creator accounts that have been deleted and are essentially unmoderated (outside of instance admins).

I found a couple of these, !canada@lemmy.ml and !firefox@lemmy.ml, and decided I could help watch them as a result.

If they are fairly small I would definitely recommend it to anyone else - for me, by far and large, I find that the users who engage with these communities are really very respectful and create good conversation about the topics, which makes my role very simple most of the time.

Its possible, like I said the signature may be behind that grass - but it is just too bad it is not credited regardless. If you were the photographer, you would think you would look for the signature/source of the art you are photographing to credit it.

When you have a new PC, put it on the old one too. You could run a Jellyfin server off it it or use it as a NAS device or something.

Ehh, in Dvorak, or programmers Dvorak, they are just as accessible on the shift layer. I really feel as though the true benefit to Neo is if you need all or many of the uncommon characters not typically offered on other layouts as I previously described.

It’s sad to see that Matthew here does not seem to be crediting the original creator of the art in their article. I expect if this is real, the artists signature should be right there behind that grass, or was otherwise removed.

One of my favorite comparisons is computing to magic. They say that sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

A lot of people have a hard time drawing that comparison, but if you tell them that there are very special, rare silica rocks that you can only find in specific places on earth, and that if you inscribe one of these rocks with billions of tiny transistors runes and then power infuse the rock with electricity lightning you can actually make trick the rock into a processor thinking, and that this now let’s you create software incantations which explain to the processor thinking rock how to execute a program do specific things for you, then they begin to see why.

I will, I am interested in checking out how to build widgets too, so I may see about making my own.
