While I also would like drivers to be able to drive at the limit for the entire lap this would result in less overtaking again. For an overtake you have to drive quite a bit faster than the other driver. But when one driver is already driving at the limit you would have to drive over the limit to get past him (assuming cars are relatively equal in pace which one would also want to have).
The only way to have overtaking and driving at the limit is to have a car which works mostly the same way in clean air as it does in dirty air. So it would not be able to have sophisticated aerodynamics and would have to rely mostly on mechanical grip making it much slower than F1 has been in the last decades. And then the people would cry that F1 is too slow.
The way he is looking says he’s not doing it because he enjoys it but out of spite.
I think there already is an option to enable proton for all titles instead of doing it for every one separately.

Honestly had a lot more fun watching especially the first half of this race than most of the time in the last seasons. I like that the drivers can decide when to use their energy instead of having to rely on DRS to overtake. I’m excited for what this season will bring. And with a few tweaks in the following seasons the cars can be amazing.

Damn Verstappen is on the move those hard tires.

Looks like the rest of the cars have it relatively figured out though. At the beginning if testing you saw a lot more cars struggling to brake than now. Maybe it was a very unfortunate error in Max car system.

Yeah they’ll only be able to do 1-2 laps before they destroy their last two batteries as it seems.
It’s just Aeon btw

Thanks for the insight. I’ve started learning Elixir some months ago and while it is a little difficult to get into for me I can see that once you know the basics it can be very powerful. However I’m not a programmer so I’ll probably only use it for hobby projects.

What did you use it for?

Yeah but I mean the teams could surely adjust the deployment to be reduced at higher speeds so the power lasts for longer. Maybe with just cutting electric power like this it’s more like the car is doing part of the braking before the corner.

I’m wondering why it would be faster to do this instead of just using less electric energy to drive fast on the straights.
Kann da evtl jemand der Software entwickelt die sowas einsetzt berichten ob und inwiefern das etwas bringt?

To me it looked like most teams have to figure out the brake balance since many of them locked up quite badly. Also on exit the drivers still have to get used to the extra punch of the 50% electric power but I think both of these things will be figured out by the start of the season.
Also they do look slow for now but that’s probably because it’s the beginning of testing and they are focusing to get the car set up rather than reach the limit.
It’s not really by law though, is it? It’s more that the current government just encourages it despite the law.
You can always go to the Local or All feed and sort by various things like Active, Hot, New to see more things that you haven’t explicitly subscribed to.
I’m too awake for this
