Do you usually use an umbrella when it’s sunny or would you do it just to charge the battery? I know it’s a thing but only very rarely see people do that, probably not enough to have demand for something like this. Backpacks with solar panels exist but I think these are pretty hard to find too.

If the infrastructure/driving conditions are bad enough you run almost the same danger when driving lawfully. Eventually you learn to trust your senses more than traffic laws. Sometimes it’s actually safer to break some laws as a pedestrian/cyclist. Maybe people who ride a lot get used to it eventually and don’t see running a red light (when no cars are passing) as more dangerous than going on green.

Maybe a niche use case, it’s extremely handy for testing an application with multiple users. Everyone else at work seems to be keeping 3 browsers open at all times just for the separate logins.

Honestly with public transit counting distance in km makes even less sense. Commute times to subway-connected places vs bus-connected places differ wildly. It’s easier to just use the time directly instead of the distance.
