I don’t have any problem with police getting in touch with someone they believe is at risk of committing a crime. Better to check in and make sure they are okay, rather than waiting until something terrible happens. As long as its limited to “Are you okay?” then its fine IMO.
Requires a police force that has the trust of the people though, and that is increasingly rare.
And its difficult to square that with the right to privacy/no unreasonable searches.

Rewriting code into English/GGUF/Klingon/whatever, and then getting someone else to rewrite it back into code is just laundering it. Its been legally accepted for a while, and many projects we take for granted today started that way.
Whether this case is “clean” enough is up to the courts ultimately, but its laundering either way.
My point, which was not well received, is that VPNs exist, and a VPN to Japan will get the job done. Mine is free, just setup a free oracle cloud VM, and tailscale to Japan.
We don’t have to jump through their hoops, we have other options.

Put a bunch of toilet paper on top, and then use a toilet brush to shove the blockage down. The toilet paper should hopefully keep the brush (or any other object) clean. Once you get it past the ubend it should free up and flow normally.
You can also use a rubbergloved fist, or some other longish object.

The US economy (and others) are all in on AI. Destroying one of anthropic or openais datacenters would potentially cause massive damage to their valuations, which would ripple through the rest of the magic numbers. If investors got cold feet, it could be an economic bloodbath.
As a target to cause damage to the US, its pretty good.

Headspace was already a data harvesting platform. If your company pays for headspace (mine does), then the company gets access to your data (might be anonymised, but who knows).
