The title of the article is ignorantly misleading, and the core paper is intentionally misleading. They very explicitly state that their grading is not based on dose or exposure, only on detection with a threshold of 1 ppm. The fun thing about positive/negative testing is that if you have a sensitive enough test you can find just about anything.

There’s a good reason they’re not naming-and-shaming: this study was performed by the “nonprofit arm” of the company “million marker.” Their products include similar scattergun tests trying to take advantage of people, particulalry vulnerable couples experiencing fertility issues. Their website is full of pseudoscientific and tautalogical claims, implying health benefits while being careful not to promise anything: “The good news is that if you follow our recommendations and eliminate the sources of exposure, you can dramatically decrease your exposure levels.” Their “services” also include elimination coaching: naming products to avoid undermines the core message of the study: “this problem is EVERYWHERE… and only we can help.”

It’s huge for this. Aiming and trying to frame the camera for a phone app sucks. Pointing your head is a lot more natural.

The "medical device " solutions are bulky, exceedingly expensive, and lack creature comforts like Bluetooth audio from your phone.

That’s not really a practical answer for a lot of crimes, unless you also presuppose that a large portion of women covering it up are also successfully pinning them on men or preventing them from being discovered at all.

For example in the US, even if you add all unknown murders to women, they’re still totaling less than half attributed to men.

While I agree with the sentiment, I think the disparity is so vast you can’t practically explain it without a substantial underlying difference in the crimes committed.

I think it’s probably fair to say that there was a lot of evolutionary pressure that selected for aggression in males and against it for females. Trying to ignore any biological differences is neglectful.
