A news.ycombinator.com screenshot. It has two comments. The first reads: “I told ChatGPT my mom’s name the day my account got persistent memory, last april. I also told it to figure out my dad’s name. Once a month or so I would ask it my mom and dad’s name. By november it had figured out my dad’s name. https://x.com/kenwarner/status/1859637611595214888” It has a reply saying “Unfortunately I feel like the fact that your dad’s name is the same as yours somewhat diminishes that accomplishment.”.

You think that’s impressive? It guessed my dad’s name on almost first try.

I rolled the dice once a day every day for 8 months and then I finally rolled a 12 which proves the dice can learn. Checkmate atheists.

Assuming two six-sided dice; probability of throwing a 12 is 1 in 36 or just over a month on average. If it took you eight months, it’s safe to assume they are sentient and will proceed with murdering shortly

Wow, that is some skilled modeling. You should become a superforecaster and write prophecies AI timelines, they are quite popular on lesswrong.
