    You will have to pay for the phone upfront but the cost will be reimbursed via bill credits over 24 months.

    So it’s not free.

      It is free, I have taken advantage of similar deals. By “bill credits” they mean their billing system will take it into account when it comes time to pay the bill. If your bill was $100 normally and the new phone would bring up the monthly payment to idk $120, the monthly bill you pay will still be $100.

      Now it absolutely is a scheme to keep people on their service for at least 24 months because if you cancel then you do have to pay for the phone and then it’s not free. It’s the new “contract without a contract”, but you’ll find similar at every major US carrier.
