Ok so let’s start off by saying that I am not an expert in all things TV. I have no formal ‘critic’ training. But you know what? I know what I like. And I like the Knick.
For those who aren’t familiar with the show, it’s about a fictional hospital in NYC called The Knickerbocker, right at the turn of the 20th century. The show tackles various social issues, medical advancements, and inventions that are emerging.
I think the acting is very well done. I think the set designs and costumes are done accurately. Without spoiling anything, something I really like is that the background music doesn’t really fit the time period. It’s hard to explain but makes sense when you watch it. Lastly, the show ended after only two seasons so it never had a chance to become bad.
Anyways, just wanted to share! Thanks for reading, and if you haven’t seen the show I hope you give it a shot :)
The season 2 ending needed more story! Few years ago I got excited about a potential season 3 news.

No news since, which makes me sad.Spoiler Alert
Absolutely. I’m a big fan of Soderbergh and Clive.
The Knick was an entertaining, gripping piece of TV.
Clive’s final scene as Dr Whatshisname (it’s a while since I watched) is some of the greatest TV drama since Al Swearengen had kidneystones in Deadwood. That’s what I’m saying! It ended well and never had a chance to get bad. “This is it. This is all we are.”
Also Clive Owen
I’m going to honest with you. I know he’s famous. But this is the only show/movie/piece of media of his i am familiar with.
Clive, and Soderbergh for that matter, rarely make a bad move.
Hard agree. Clive is cool because, according to a piece I read, he had every opportunity to become a mega famous person. But he just wants to spend time with his family and act when he finds roles he finds interesting. Definitely respect that
