The poll found 50% of Democrats approve of how Biden has navigated the conflict while 46% disapprove — and the two groups diverge substantially in their views of U.S. support for Israel. Biden’s support on the issue among Democrats is down slightly from August, as an AP-NORC poll conducted then found that 57% of Democrats approved of his handling of the conflict and 40% disapproved.
I think the larger issue here is that Democrats have to appease the Republican voters which have a large voice due to the current electoral college system. I like the idea of the electoral college but the implementation leaves room for improvement.
The time to really push to make changes is early in the cycle. Right after the presidential election people who are unhappy with the current system need to go hard to make the changes they want to see in their party. Not just be happy that there’s no Republican to ruin everything.
Am I happy with everything Biden has done? No of course not. But I’m just happy I’m not waking up to the President tweeting incoherent ramblings at 3AM provoking WWIII. I have confidence that Biden will at least attempt to do the right thing while Republicans will do what’s best at growing their wallet and not caring about anything else.
