A central Bible verse left Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville puzzled Wednesday — as he compared himself to America’s poorest people.

…

“Some of the people say your party’s, you know, punishing ‘the least of these,’” he was told.

“Punishing what? ‘The least of these?’”

“‘The least of these’ — biblical reference,” the reporter explained, referring to the famous verse in Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

…

“The least of these?” Tuberville asked again, clearly puzzled.

Christianity has always been this, and often worse. They’re not fake. At least right now they’re only being hypocrites and not actually burning people at the stake, flaying people alive, or turning them into *chattel slaves. So I guess that’s progress.

    (*or as much anyhow).

e: if this feels aimed at you lately, that’s only because you’ve recently been added as a target of theirs for recruiting or whatever. Welcome to the club. We bring refreshments and drugs to most meetings. We need them to deal with their shit.

Yep, ICE uses superficially different tactics to destroy people now.
