Hi,

The question has been posted on the official github on Monero https://github.com/monero-project/monero/issues/10259

But the answer is … weird…

a connection to daemon is not required

but this is not true

as when you do monero-wallet-cli address new for example you get

This is the command line monero wallet, it needs to connect to a monero daemon to work correctly

and I can see in my monitoring that indeed monero-wallet-cli try to connect…

If anyone have an ideas…

    I already did it, but here as screenshot.

    You shouldn’t need to have a connection to generate a new address.

    I know, that why it’s so odd that monero-wallet-cli ask to be connected !

      It looks like a generic warning message that appears for all commands if the daemon is not connected.
      Is the wallet generated correctly in the end?

        My system show me the attempt of connection, so it’s not just only cosmetic
        and no monero-wallet-cli hang there because it can’t make the connection…

          How long does it hang there? It should only hang for ~1 second, it does that for me. Otherwise, the wallet is generated correctly.
