1·3 days agoWell, I replied to two comments. I was just trying to let them learn the actual cause of OP’s problem so they can help others in the future. I am sorry if I didn’t follow proper etiquette.
Does it sync browsing history?
That is your / (root) partition. You can’t write to it because Aurora is an atomic & immutable distro.
Source: I use Aurora & Bazzite.
If you want a set it and forget it distro to never touch his computer again, then consider going a Ublue distro. Aurora (only KDE), or Bazzite (choose the KDE image) if he does gaming.
4·5 days agoThis is what I do, I enable HDR on:
- My Monitor’s menu (hardware)
- Steam Game Mode
- KDE Plasma monitor config (software)
- Game settings
My monitor isn’t OLED, so the difference is barely noticeable to me. Even on my Steam Deck OLED, the difference is not big enough for me. It’s nice, but I just can’t appreciate it as much as others do. However, I do graphic design so the color management aspect is more valuable to me in a work context, just not so much for games.

6·7 days agoMy kids freaking love it, and family sharing is crazy good. I use it on trips. My other two PCs are running Bazzite.
Yeah Bazzite is great for people that just want an easy to use, set it and forget it system.
Please consider Ghost or Write.as, both are part of the fediverse, support markdown (meaning easy to import content from Lemmy) AND they both support public and paid-for content with ready to use payment gateways.
I don’t have much to give but I will donate to your crusade for great content.

Which is the image that bundles the proprietary Nvidia driver for your laptop. They don’t need to know the exact model, just the generation.

Fedora too, if the users are tech illiterate and they come from Windows it might be worth going for the Kinoite spin. They wouldn’t be able to wreck it and the UI would feel more familiar to them.
Yes, while it’s vastly better than it was not long ago, there’s quite a bit of catching up for them to do. On Bazzite gamemode on Nvidia is quite rudimentary.
However, Nvidia is progressing fast, I bet I’ll have no issues with it in the near future.
That could translate as: “adding denuvo didn’t impact the game’s performance it is as good or better than the build without denuvo.”
Which I don’t believe and don’t care, I don’t buy denuvo games.
