This is from one of the old Cracked photoshop contests.

This is as interesting as learning that in 1885, Dr. Scammington’s Patented Snake Oil Remedy was more popular than its closest competitor Professor Placebo’s Distilled Tincture of Snake.

It’s still hilarious to me that Plex, a project forked from the XBMC (now Kodi) free open-source app for organizing and playing one’s own entirely legally obtained video files, is a big streaming business thing that charges people money.
It’s like finding a tree in the forest that gives out infinite free apples, and then setting up an apple-selling table right next to it stocked with apples you obviously got from that tree.

It’s intentional. They muscle out all the other, better options.

I worked in a suburban shopping mall back at the turn of the millennium. One of the big anchor stores shut down, and the space was taken by a Walmart. Over the coming months and years, one by one, the smaller shops in the mall began disappearing as they couldn’t compete; whatever that store sold, the Walmart had a cheaper and crappier version of it. Bigger and bigger stores began suffering and shutting down, and within a handful of years even the huge corporate department stores were flagging.
The mall itself died completely within the next twenty years. However much of the responsibility Walmart itself bears for that is uncertain, but it’s certainly some.

For the sake of info this is Fiore Ciminello, an Argentine Tiktok user who was getting surgery to correct a deviated septum, not a nose job. She posted a video making a nose job joke, and the Internet got whooshed and took it seriously.

Techspot deleted the article. Here’s an Internet Archive capture.
