Yeah, but wouldn’t this lead to the cars perceiving each other as moving faster than light?

Technology@lemmy.world•DuckDuckGo installs are up 30% as users reject being ‘force-fed’ Google’s AI SearchEnglish

They’re not explicitly forbidden from taking care of minor offenses iirc, it’s just not their area of expertise
Yeah, in Italy there’s a lot of armed officials in public places and big stations (even train stations!). Usually they’re only there to look intimidating. The ones who will actually bother people (usually immigrants) are regular policemen, who, paradoxically, are less likely to carry firearms
The only guns I see in my life are in possession of trained professionals. And even then it’s a lot if I see one per three months.
Here in my country (in Europe), you can just go to any important train station or public place and there’ll be a bunch of soldiers doing fuck all with guns in their belts. They’re just meant to stand there and look intimidating lmao. I’ve never even seen them bother immigrants or anything (that’s the police’s job)
I swear, whenever someone talks about how “humanity” is killing the planet, or “humanity” is evil or something like that, I get so irrationally mad. It’s not humanity, it’s like less than 1% of people that are bringing this planet down
Remember, the ‘carbon footprint’ metric was invented by British Petroleum’s PR team.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What piece of media thoroughly disappointed you?
1·3 days agoI did like it very much actually, but I think the second half was dragged out hinting at information that was already obvious. I did watch other Kubrick moves but I was a little kid and I don’t remember much

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a NON-HORROR NON-DOCUMENTARY movie that disturbed you or made you very uncomfortable?
4·4 days agoGrave of the Fireflies. You don’t see any fighting and most people the protagonists meet are good, AND YET it’s so depressing. Seeing how bad the horrors of war are, even in the best case scenario, was eye-opening for me.

9·4 days agoThat’s because Monopoly (well, the game Monoopoly ripped off from) was designed to be bad (like Undertale’s genocide route). It wanted to show how shitty the stock market is

Moving is just putting more space between you and something. If it walks like a horse, talks like a horse, bites like a horse… you get the idea. It’s not clear to me why the increase of inbetween space in cosmic inflation “gets a pass” whereas the increase of inbetween of space from movement doesn’t
