Time for a deep cut:
Mitch McConnell? More like Tumbles the Stair Dragon.
I agree with you, except the Democrats are only “left” when compared to Republicans. The USA has a conservative party and a fascist one.
Whether or not we see elections again isn’t really important. The important part is the organization we’ll need to get as many people as possible through the years ahead.
Move forward? Do you not understand how fucked we are?
I’ve known how fucked we are since Bush v. Gore proved that American Democracy has always been a sham. Trump is nothing new, just an escalation of a trend that started in the 70’s.
It’s gonna take nothing less than a major miracle to not succumb to an inevitable string of back-to-back-to-back disasaters of all types.
Precisely. That’s why it’s so important that we stop playing the blame game and start getting organized.
No. We’re not moving forward with the people who got us here. With luck, we’ll survive.
That’s the hope, that we might all be able to build networks of mutual aid to get each other through the troubled times ahead.
What does that have to do with anything now?
It directly contradicts the fantasy that a Democrat government might comply with the ICC/ICJ.
And, just to put too fine a point on it, the situation for Gaza and with Bibi is infinitely worse.
Please, do explain. What got worse under Trump than it already was under Biden?
I don’t wish to be rude, but you must not be familiar with the U.S.A. if you think it would be any easier to hold a client state accountable under the Democrats, like Biden, who have also openly rejected Netanyahu’s arrest warrant.
If anything, Trump might break this country badly enough to make it possible for the international criminal court to act without fear of reprisal.
Did Biden reverse his opinion on the ICC at some point after he called Netanyahu’s arrest warrant “Outrageous” or put any weight behind a push to repeal the Hague Invasion Act?
Cool, so we can give up on relitigating the last election and move forward?
Well, one of those is a thing you can do right now, the other is a topic you can only whine about for the next four years.
Because you voted, and you didn’t get the outcome, doesn’t mean your vote didn’t matter.
You misunderstand. It’s not that my candidate lost, it’s that I live in a solid blue state that has zero impact on the outcome of U.S. elections.
Don’t let that feeling stop you from doing everything required to make sure your vote is cast (and counted), especially moving forward.
I’ll continue to vote, but I gave up on the idea that electoralism is part of the solution when the DNC shut Bernie out of the primary in 2016 then won a legal case that sanctified their right to do so.
Don’t worry, if anyone was going to collapse the false vacuum it’d probably have already happened.
I didn’t abstain, but I might as well have for all the good voting did.
He seems to think Israel is a U.S. client state rather than the other way around. XD
They’re rejecting DEI in favor of WEI: White, Entitled, and Inept.
The single most domesticated culture on the planet…
More like 30%/30%/40%.
If not voting counted as a vote for nobody then nobody would have won an election in the US in decades.
Likewise, I don’t find any fault in your argument and I think we can both agree that efforts should be both focused where they can be most effective and distributed so that as many people as possible can participate.
That said (and this might just be the disillusioned old anarchist in me), I think we passed the point where a scheduled mass protest could be an effective means of influencing the government sometime prior to the 1999 Seattle WTO protests.
It’s been the official U.S. policy since Bush Jr. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Service-Members’_Protection_Act
