World News@lemmy.world•CIA Report Warns Israel Could Head Toward Civil War, Total CollapseEnglish
101·5 天前I have no lost love for Israel but this site is one of the worst propaganda rags I’ve seen in a while. This is the same site that tried to claim protesters in Iran were actually being shot by Israel. These people will print anything regardless of how much it smells like bullshit.
Israel is politically unstable right now but hardly at the edge of civil war.

11·10 天前A 70% of lemmy could do with reading this. People seem to get stuck on this notion that American imperialism is bad and therefore anything else is good. I have literaly seen people trying to defend the actions of imperial Japan because the US sanctioned them. Russia, China, and Iran are all countries with imperial foreign policy. Your not an anti imperialist free thinker. You are backing the other empire.

7·10 天前There is a certain kind of movie you see advertised only in LA. The kind where the advertisers know its going to flop and try and cover their asses by ensuring all the producers see the ads.
In other news while in LA recently I saw this on the billboards on Ventura Boulevard.
Self driving above level and 0 below level 4 should be banned. Levels one and two do involve the driver more but people just can’t be trusted to understand them. Level three is just downright dangerous. With nothing apparent to do people cannot be trusted to pay attention effectively even if they are trying. Google’s self driving program started with level three self driving and promptly abandonded it when they found employees weren’t paying attention to the road.

Ukraine@sopuli.xyz•[Combat] FP-7 Pelican Ballistic Missile Used to Strike Moscow. Oil Refinery & Warehouse Hit Hard. - SuchomimusEnglish
6·21 天前I’m not convinced the ballistic missile hit Moscow.
Militarnyi seems to be reporting fragments of an fp-5 at the refinery not an fp-7. The New York Times also observes that the fp-7 lacks the range to hit Moscow according to Fire Point’s publicly listed specifications. Zelensky so far as I can tell has not claimed the missile hit Moscow specifically. Maybe somewhere else in Russia?

The primary anti scalping mechanisim Valve employes is randomizing delivery order. Being in line first because you have the fastest bot does not guarantee getting the goods first.
The original commentator is complaining they can’t join the waiting list multiple times for the express purpose of “increase your chances of getting one in the first batch”. That would give scalpers a potential way to get more of an advantage. And runs directly counter to anti scalping.
You are complaining you can’t decide what you want once you get through which is a different issue. Though allowing that would likely make waitlists much more complex

I’d prefer he had to live out a prison sentence if I am getting a choice in the matter. Giving him a quick way out feels unreasonably forgiving.
