I was living in a neighborhood that gentrified and my rent went up a “life altering” amount. I had to move to a different, shittier neighborhood and had nothing to show for it. If a property owner has the same thing happen, they may be forced to sell, but they will get a massive windfall. Renters get nothing besides a kick in the butt.
Tea party was partially real. But it was basically petite bourgeois: car dealership owners and the like. This was also the main component of Jan 6th. These people aren’t a huge constituency but there are a lot more of them than billionaires.

This is one of the bigger problems with the current stock market where investment decisions for a huge amount of the capital in the market is being made mechanically by looking only at the market capitalization of the company. We end up in a hyperreal situation where if you pump hard enough on a stock you can basically “manifest” a blue-chip label on it and then leverage everyone’s retirement accounts to keep it
