Yep we had Optics, the plague and the great fire of London in one golden year.
Interesting fact that the fire probably helped curtail the spread of the plague and led to more sanitary conditions in London in general.

Surely any racist abuse is ‘unconscionable’?

There’s some real batshot politics going on in Europe right now, but every time I feel I’m going under, I look across the Atlantic and I see an army laid low with 'flu, a diarrhoea outbreak and a measles outbreak in 2026, and I think, y’know, maybe it isn’t so bad here.

These are Newtons rings, a different type of optical interference pattern.
It occurs when two transparent sources reflect light in contact.
You get it frequently when trying to scan transparencies using a flatbed scanner too.
