I see three serious contenders for the next Presidency. Pritzker, Jon Stewart, and Tucker Carlson. That’s three very different paths, and we’ll know a lot more after that election.

The Republican nomination is Carlson’s if he wants it, and he would roll right over another Zionist Democrat. Pritzker has the best chance of any traditional Democrat of satisfying (barely) both the establishment and progressive wings, and would dominate any Republican but maybe Tucker. Stewart would steamroll anyone dumb enough to debate him. He’s still way too “enlightened centrist” for my liking, but he seems to be learning.

Vance has a chance if Carlson doesn’t run and the Democrats nominate an establishment clown. Speaking of which, I think Newsom is going to flip-flop himself into oblivion early in the race.

Pax Americana is over. I expect America to stumble on. There are still a lot of capable and well educated Americans, and a lot of resources. It will take generations to heal though, and the rot that got us here will not be easily addressed.

What the rest of the world is going to have to deal with is that when America becomes less attractive to dominate, our oligarchs are going to turn their eyes elsewhere. They still have their assets, and no real loyalty to America. It already looks like the process is well underway.

The idea that the US government would fall and that the “good guys” would end up in control of what followed is ridiculous.

Oh look, the Democrats just unendorsed the progressive Democratic candidate for mayor in Minneapolis based on some procedural technicality. It’s almost like there is a pattern.

That’s why they don’t get the benefit of the doubt anymore. When someone pulls the same shit over and over again and always has an excuse, the excuses stop working.

Just to refresh memories, back in 2020 Democratic primary voters decided that picking a candidate exclusively on their perceived ability to fight Trump was more important than one who would be the best President. That didn’t end up working so well in the long run.

If the Democrats don’t elect a transformative President that will twist arms in Congress and put the people ahead of the oligarchs, then get used to the idea of President Vance in 2032.

The DNC doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt. No endorsement and no support from Democratic leaders is active opposition to his run. They burned up all their second chances years ago. Anyone paying attention knows who they are.

Cuomo is running against the Democratic nominee, not the DNC. I haven’t seen the DNC has step up to back Mamdani, and it’s pretty clear that DNC leadership backs Cuomo.

The next human female was several hundred kilometers away…

The convenience of a 5 minute fuel up is just too nice.

Not as convenient as plugging it in when you get home. (For those with the privilege to do so). One of my favorite parts of driving electric for the last ten years has been not having to stop at the gas station.

My partner and I actually have one electric, and one plug-in hybrid. We end up putting fuel in the hybrid about once every 4-6 months on average.

So, up until that moment, Newsom didn’t know about Republican gerrymandering, or or hadn’t occurred to him to fight it? You know something, I can almost believe that. The only part I won’t believe is that Newsom is fighting them on principal instead of showboating for a 2028 run. The smart money says he folds just like the Texas Democrats.

Bullshit. What others? These are the people with the power. The Democrat’s and their apologists still don’t take what’s happening seriously. Two weeks is a nice vacation, not a fucking exile in Syberia.

No, that’s not how I got Trump. That’s how the Democratic establishment got us Trump. They got their choice of “miracle candidate” and ran their choice of campaign their way. They even got their choice of opponent thanks to Hillary’s “pied piper” campaign to pump up Trump. They orchestrated the whole damn thing, so fuck you for blaming me. The only thing you got right is that it actually would take a fucking miracle for the establishment to pull their heads out of their asses and pick a real candidate.

Newsom cares about being President. That’s his entire moral core. Just like Hillary, Biden, Obama, and Harris, being president is an ego trip and serves no end but self gratification. That’s why we fell to fascism. If you think that staying on the same path that got us here will get us out, then it’s you who got us Trump and, more importantly, you who will get us the next Trump

The government is spending it, then the private system is skimming from it.

Oh, there is plenty of infighting, but putting it on the left is nonsense. If the establishment fought the right as hard as they fight the left, it would be Democrats running the whole government.

Anything as complex as an atom will be disintegrated too.

If Newsom is the candidate, the race will have already been thrown.

What payment terminals? They could go years just being an online credit card. Hell, initially it wouldn’t be very different from any company that bills their customers. Start it as a Steam only thing, then add select partners one at a time. It doesn’t have to be in your grocery store on day one, or ever really. Fraud detection is easy when you can just yank the game back. Sears couldn’t do that when you bought a washing machine. I worked in banking infosec and I have no idea what “digital compliance” means in this context. The hardest compliance standards in this space are PCI, and those are defined and enforced on clients by the payment card industry itself.
