2·3 天前This is good to hear. I also have a cheap Pi that I’m not currently using for anything. Maybe I should figure out a job for it too.
To be fair, I’m a complete noob and don’t know if what I have is too weak or overkill. I just figured that it’s a 12 year old computer and might be worse than what others are using.

What is your current distro?
I’m not sure what this means yet, but I’ll try to remember when it comes up, thanks. The PC I plan on using is fairly old - a 2013 build with a 770.
My plan is to start by turning an old PC into a Jellyfin server, just to see how everything works. Then later I might buy dedicated hardware.
Self-hosting is calling to me right now… I’ve been watching videos on it for the last couple of nights. I fear it’s too late for me.

The woman’s car wouldn’t start because of an installed device that makes her pass a breathalyzer (something courts can mandate). Midwestern people are stereotypically very helpful, but the ones from Wisconsin drink a lot, so nobody present could pass the breathalyzer either. The solution was for all the drunk strangers to physically push her car to where it needed to be.
28·5 天前I don’t mind having to use my imagination a bit. Not every TV show needs to be a cgi spectacle, as long as it’s well written.
Shows don’t need to be afraid to glue random junk to actors’ heads, create sets out of paper mache, or dress up a dog like an alien.

Some companies sell Linux prebuilts, like System76, but that’s pretty niche for the average person to even know to search for.
Now, if stores like Best Buy had a section for Linux prebuilts, that would reach a lot of people.
