When I first started teaching 30 years ago, I asked, as a writing excersize, should Canada join the U.S. At that time, about half said yes. When I retired eight years ago, I would get maybe one who said yes. Canadians have fallen out of love with the U.S. While we are looking for stronger ties to the EU, I don’t know anyone who is seriously pushing to join it. We just came out of a bad breakup. We need time before making that big a commitment again.
Interesting. Miami is indigenous. It may be a good choice as it’s already a place name and possibly less objectionable to the US Americans.

Just got back from our camp where I’m doing renovations. It’s only accessible by boat so all supplies have to be loaded in the trailer, brought to the boat, loaded in the boat, brought to the camp, then unloaded onto the dock. Makes for slow going, but the peace and beauty out there make up for it. Today, I’m going to church, picking up groceries for the week, then heading back to camp.
I’d really love to see how one of these does here in Northern Canada. There are almost no electric vehicles here because of the performance of batteries in the long, cold winter.
We play speed Uno. If you have the identical card as the card that’s played, you can lay it down if you get it to the pile before the person whose turn it is lays down theirs. Play then continues from you.
Besides, red-tailed hawks do not scavenge while bald eagles do.
