Ok, but, like, no offense, are you skilled enough to properly analyze and dig through large complicated bills? Are you a skilled enough administrator to manage an office of staffers?

Are most politicians? They generally use their staff and their chief of staff for those things. The only thing that I’d grant them across the board, generally, is they are decent at public speaking.

There are many people that have specialized training that do their work to serve, not for the money (e.g. teachers, public defenders, MSF, etc…)

As a single tool, no, not a chance in hell of becoming fluent. It’s definitely a good aide and introduction to branch out into more media and sources of another language though.

I will say, with Duolingo I do appreciate the manipulation to keep me going. I probably wouldn’t have spent near as much time on another language if it weren’t for keeping that streak going. I can definitely understand the harm in it being used for maligne purposes. With any tool, it’s who wields it and for what intent.

Apollo 9 did not go to the moon. It was earth orbit rendezvous practice with the command module and the lunar lander module. Apollo 8 flew to and around the moon. Apollo 10 flew to the moon and lowered the lander (but not to the surface) and rendezvoused with the command module. Apollo 11 was the first to land on the moon.
