No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some people have so many browser tabs open?
4·26 days agothis is my default setup, i have thousands tabs opened… when i need to search for something i usually search in my opened tabs, and it’s more useful then a search engine
it’s wip, they are iterating it
i think they added it as beta, then reverted, then now is being reworked
i’ve had professors that moved the passing grade based on how many where in the course. 100 people? if you make a single mistake you’re out. he also bragged about this from the start.
i passed by waiting until most of the others left or passed.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•we did a little bit of branch fuckery
28·3 months agoin the projects i work in i always try to force semi linear history to avoid all of this, never merge (unless it’s the MR) always rebase.
this leaves a very readable history, with each feature branch highlighted and no mixture in the commits…
i haven’t found any downside yet… maybe that some ci/cd are built to push to main, but making them do branch pr automerge is not that difficult

22·3 months agoi was a long jellyfin user, but i dismissed all of that, stremio is just too easy to use.
i had to argue with some friends that when a breach happen and the company did not do everything in they’re power to prevent it, then it is the company’s fault.
They argued that bad actor should never do bad things, even it they are at hands reach.
If a company exposes an s3 bucket with clients data publicly, the company is 100% at fault if someone discovers it and sell the data. ofc the guy would be liable too.
in fact, i removed the top bar from all apps… and i’m on kde btw
