I must not have made myself clear. I wasn’t talking about Middle East Eye, I was talking about NY Post. I’m advising people avoid linking to or sharing links to NY Post so it doesn’t get ad revenue.

I’m basically acknowledging the issue mentioned in the article and saying it’s par for the course for NY Post.

It’s not that I’m opposed to all forms of giving people things. It’s just that I would rather we help give people good things like solar panes, wind turbines, electric vehicles, free or low cost bus fair. Things that will move our country forward instead of backwards.

We need aggressive action against this. Urge every politician you can to make media literacy taught in school. Students must learn how to identify disinformation and propaganda.

I’ve been seeing some people say the only reason they’re on Twitter is because they follow some artists who are only on Twitter.

The thing to keep in mind is that not everyone is as informed as we are about Twitter’s Nazi problem. Some people may just follow their favorite artists and celebrities and drown out all the political stuff and not realize that by using Twitter they are helping enrich and sustain a person and a platform that radicalize people and spread Nazi propaganda.

Why did they do it? Was it something a little like the Scunthorpe problem (ex: they got suspended because it contained Nazi content but they didn’t realize the purpose was to expose Nazis)?

That’s because our taxpayer dollars are used to subsidize this obsolete form of energy. We should be focusing on energy of the future instead of energy of the past.

What do you expect? NY Post is owned by Rupert Murdoch the same person who owns Fox “News”. I recommend never giving that rag a penny. Share links to more reputable news sources, if you must share a NY Post link use the archive link and always use an ad blocker.

I strongly oppose this and think it’s a bad idea because then you’ll be like Ukraine and your neighbors like Russia. Instead we must win big in all 50 states. Otherwise you’ll screw over tens if not hundreds of millions of people who will be forced to live in a a far-right extremist country. Let’s instead take back our country in all 50 states.

Another reason why this is a bad idea is because blue states send a lot of good Democrats to congress. Taking that away means certain Republican domination in congress.

I agree 100% with that comment. If someone leaves late yes we wish they would have left sooner but we can’t go back in time and change that so we must just be happy that they finally left.

I agree that Bluesky isn’t a “big tech platform”, it’s not as big as I wish it were but I do think currently it’s the largest competitor that’s at-least mostly ethical or far better than the big tech platforms. They recently hit a 41 million user milestone. How can platforms can you name with greater than that many users that is not part of what is commonly considered to be “big tech” (Meta, Google, Twitter, Snapchat, and TikTok)?

Twitter is more egregious than even other big tech platforms and there are major competitors that don’t have these AI training terms of services like Bluesky.

Also some people are just slow to change or don’t get the news so we have to try everything we can.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. If even a tiny amount of people leave because of this it’s a win! Think about it like chipping away at a stone with a chisel and discarding the fragments. If you keep doing it enough one day the stone will be gone.
