Hey Guys. I’m trying to subscribe to an external communitu (battlemaps@lemmy.world), but i’m not sure what the syntax is for such a search. Manually inputting fedia.io/m/battlemaps@lemmy.world to the URL doesn’t seem to help either. Am I missing something?
I think the syntax for communities is !community@instance.tld, so !battlemaps@lemmy.world should work to direct you to that community on that instance. By replacing the ! with an @ that should be for profiles on an instance so @battlemaps@lemmy.world would be for a user called battlemaps on lemmy.world. I hope I got this right!
Thanks for the assistance everybody, i’m now successfully subscribed to battlemaps.
The Fedia.IO copy of it is showing no threads, but I assume federation isn’t a back porting process and i’ll get new posts over time. If anything, there’s always the original instance if I want to browse it’s history.
Thank you for the help.
That’s correct - kbin doesn’t tend to drag in old posts, however Lemmy does appear to do this.
I see, thank you for the clarification. Maybe thats something that’ll change in the future, but only time will tell.
