But it did knock Epstein off the front page.

And all the members made a fortune on insider trading.

I doubt any regret the decision. Even trump, he really loves money.

that is the sole reason, to keep epstein files from continually revealing the people on the files from coming to light.

I think the US got involved in this war because they genuinely thought they could win - they had just kidnapped the Venezuelan President and killed a bunch of random Central American fishermen. I don’t buy the distraction argument - the US media is owned by a small club of billionaires, and will say whatever they ask them to.

Ah, yes, and here’s the original ban:

        https://thediplomat.com/2023/12/malaysia-bars-israeli-cargo-vessels-from-its-ports-over-gaza-conflict/

Which precedes the war by a few years–December of 2023–which sadly torpedoes your meme.

If you’re looking to replace it:

        1. Macklemore advocates for Free Palestine.
        2. We pressure Ed Sheeran to kick Macklemore off the tour.
        3. Everyone, including Sheeran’s backing band, leaves the tour in solidarity.
        4. Everyone sees how unpopular Zionism is.

Yes, the original ban is much older. I think it is now being enforced much more strictly (including on non-Israeli ships headed to / from Israel) due to Malaysian domestic politics.

I respect Macklemore’s integrity, but I don’t think an artist can have significant direct impact on this stupid war. It will ultimately come down to oil prices and the drone vs interceptor calculations.

The Yemeni civil war has also been going on for over a decade, so it’s not so much them kicking the US out as much as one faction in Yemen being very anti US because the US has been supporting the other faction (the “official” government). If you do consider the current Yemeni government to be an American puppet government, it was still not installed there for the purpose of this war. Current president has been in power for 4 years, replacing the previous 2 controversial presidents from the exact same party… So basically 33 years now, since the unification of north and south Yemen.

There are multiple groups in control of different parts of Yemen. The single biggest group are the Ansarallah, but previously the many other groups had an understanding to band together and balance them out. When the Epsteinis attacked Iran, they (particularly Saudi Arabia) broke this understanding and got their puppets to backstab the other smaller groups. This gave Ansarallah the perfect chance to ally with the smaller groups and drive the Saudi puppets out of Yemen.

Not only that. If you have an entry stamp from Israel in your passport, don’t bother going to Malaysia or Indonesia on it, as neither will let you in. This has been the case for decades, and some countries (the UK is one) have policies discreetly providing second passports to citizens who need to travel to countries with such policies.

Not just Malaysia and Indonesia, many Asian countries treat Israelis and people who travel to Israel as deeply sus. Sadly my country still lets them in.

I’m just worried about when we’re either going to start bringing in Russian oil via the Bering, or when we’re going to be indiscriminately firebombing every field we don’t have 100% control over.
