    Hey there are tunnels in Scotland and tunnels in Turkey. I’m sure if we just keep digging we can find where they connect…

    Oh god dammit, I just spent the time & effort to look Scotland to Turkey on Google Maps (to make sure before I talked shit) and I was all ready… then I saw which sub this is in.

    This sounds like one of those things where really it’s 2 tiny Midwestern towns whose municipal limits are on either side of a dirt road.

      Well it’s true that those tunnels are in Turkey, but they started being built in the 8th century BCE, so they’re only about 9,000 years off. And obviously, it isn’t connected to Scotland. Or anywhere else that isn’t one small area of Turkey.

      It’s so stupid, because the actual site is absolutely amazing, but instead of talking about it, they just make shit up.

        Surely connecting the tunnels to Ireland or Wales would score more mystical woo points, as then they could bring in druids or faerie or something.
