Most of their use has been co-opted by racists seeking to prove a point about minority groups. They are not a measure of intelligence, and should not be used as such. Broadly speaking, human intelligence is too vast and complex to be easily reduced to a three digit number.
Aside from creativity (which elon also excels at) and social intelligence (which he does not - or does he) it is a good predictor of intelligence. I mean psychologist or not, you can argue it til you’re blue in the face but tests measure aptitude, there’s a reason the entire world uses them. Saying someone is “good at tests but not good at the thing” is just a lazy argument.
