I mean unless he’s falsifying his IQ records, he is technically. 30 points higher than genius.

That said: 1) he’s probably falsifying and 2) he’s a fuckwit genius or no

I mean okay. That’s like saying temperature is an overrated method measuring the conditions outside.

Does it capture the true essence of how it will feel outdoor? No, there are too many other factors to consider.

          But it gives the ballpark.

And someone with 130 IQ is unquestionably smarter by every conventional standard than someone with 100.

So like him or not (I don’t trust me lol) he is a genius.

An IQ test doesn’t really measure much other than how good you are at IQ tests.

160 is a high score, but that’s the same as Sylvester Stallone got. And people don’t go around saying he’s a genius.

The world is full of “genius” people that made things, but all Musk seems to make is money.

They do go around saying that though He’s smart as fuck.

              ?

“An IQ test doesn’t really do much except tell you how good you are at IQ tests - that… Measure… intelligence.” See how that sounds? Lol.

It doesn’t measure intelligence, it correlates with (logical) intelligence. There is also emotional intelligence, which Musk is evidently on the exact opposite side of genius. You just can’t put an exact number on intelligence, only approximate it. Having a lot of money ensures good baseline education, and many avenues to inflate score. His actions and results are going to speak louder than any score he pumps up, and we know where that ends:

The easiest way to cheat on an IQ test is to simply practice. As far as I know, nobody has yet managed to design an IQ test where you can’t get better with practice.

No, because temperature actually is a valid and reliable measure of heat. IQ tests are neither valid nor reliable. Most of their use has been co-opted by racists seeking to prove a point about minority groups. They are not a measure of intelligence, and should not be used as such. Broadly speaking, human intelligence is too vast and complex to be easily reduced to a three digit number.

            Signed, an incredibly annoyed psychologist.

Aside from creativity (which elon also excels at) and social intelligence (which he does not - or does he) it is a good predictor of intelligence. I mean psychologist or not, you can argue it til you’re blue in the face but tests measure aptitude, there’s a reason the entire world uses them. Saying someone is “good at tests but not good at the thing” is just a lazy argument.

Temperature measures heat, which is one of many indicators of how it’ll feel outside. IQ tests measure “reasoning/problem solving, memory, pattern recognition, and information processing speed.” As a psychologist you know that already! Those are a few of the many indicators of a persons intelligence! See how that works?

              Carry on!

Is it perfect? Obviously not! But to say it’s inaccurate is just wrong.
